Two to Tango

One of the things that I have come to really miss about not having to work and having lots of free time was the access to dancing facilities. I really miss being able to dance across the floor and even instruct from time to time. When I see movies like "Shall we Dance" or pretty much any other movie that has to do with one of the classical ballroom styles it makes me long for the time when I can get back out and perfect my skills again. The only problem around here is that if I want to do any dancing like that I have to travel at least to Pittsburgh or further. I remember a funny axe-finger-chopping, bearded fellow telling me that he once went to a place in Monroeville down below Pittsburgh with a group of people and having a wonderful time dancing with 80 year old women.

I think that it is very difficult to argue that good dancing is not captivating to watch. There is just something magical about how graceful the human form can become. It is stunning how we can convey some of our strongest emotions through the fluid movement through space to the echos of sound waves. Take for example, passion. I think this picture sums that up.

And when you go dancing, you have to get dressed up and the woman is usually in a dress. Since the dress is one of the sexiest things that a woman can wear, you can't go wrong there. Simple elegance with strappy heels and bare shoulders....mmmm mmm good. Plus men, it gives you a reason to buy another dress for your lady (which, by the way, is one of the hottest clothing items out this summer). My suggestion: Go dancing. Dancing is an amazing aphrodisiac.

While You Were Sleeping...

For anyone who is married, I am sure that one of your favorite things is the fact that you get to sleep with your significant other....in the same bed. That is, of course, unless you are like the 1950's and sleep in separate beds...and if that is you please stop reading. But seriously, one of the highlights to my day is always right before I fall asleep. There is just something very comforting getting to sleep beside the person you love. Plus, when it is freezing outside you can snuggle up together for body warmth.....and when it is hot you can snuggle next to the person until they scream for you to get your sticky body away from them.

Now the funny thing that I have noticed is the various ways that people sleep. Ok, take the couple in the picture at the top. Now this is a very protective and comforting way to sleep but what they don't tell you is that the guy's arm is basically turning black from loss of blood. This is a great way to sleep for a short while...like a nap. It is also a great way to start sleep and then move to another position.

This next couple has got a much better way to sleep and I am judging that by the way that they are sleeping that they are both left handed. Actually I don't know, but I am right handed and I sleep on the opposite side. This is a great position because you are facing each other and then when you wake up the other person is the first thing you see. Oh yeah, and you can melt their face with your morning breath.

The last couple is looking very comfortable and relaxed. I enjoy this position for shorter naps because if you lay this close and on top of each other for long periods it can get very warm. Basically sleeping is just awesome to start with and doing it with someone you love is even better. I just can't get enough of it and I look forward to my days off because I take advantage of that and sleep in with her.

Lovely Lascivious Listening

Over the years I have found that my muscial tastes flitter from one style of music to the next. I am able to glean different desirable qualities from the different genres and then utilize those to interblend with my current mental state. This then creates a utopia of both thought and perception. Within the last months I have broadened my horizons to a new type of music which I basically just qualify as ambient elegance. As far as I have been able to discern, these cds are not produced in the United States and therefore makes them only obtainable via importing them. This alone makes me feel slightly elitist. The name of the cd collection is none other than Erotic Lounge. Now, before you get all up in arms and declare me to be a 70s porno groove listener, hear me out. The cds are mainly consisting of various styles of music including but not limited to: electronica, fusion jazz, acid jazz, fusion, blues, trip-hop, and lo-fi. The music is not offensive and there are not moaning women in the background, so it is suitable for even your svelte mixers. As far as I am able to tell, there are only three cds from this collection currently out. They are Erotic Lounge, Erotic Lounge: Sensual Passion Volume 2, Erotic Lounge: Bare Jewels. I highly recommend the cd collection to anyone who wants to add a little bit of ambient eroticism to their collection.

Ahhh, the Beers of Europe

The last several months I have been expanding my beer tastes into some of the more exotic imports that are available in the surrounding areas of Grove City. I have developed a taste for the following beers.

If you are looking for a great, crisp beverage with a mild aftertaste I suggest Pilsner Urquell. It is a great drink if you are slightly tired or worn out from a day of work and are looking for a great starter drink before your half priced appetizers. Pilsner Urquell hails from the Czech Republic and it made with the bones of former communists. Now let's say that you are in the mood for a nutty, almost espresso-like drink that is dark and faintly sweet. In that case I would recommend the Mackeson Triple Stout. I find that the best analogy for this drink is Port. As Port is to wine, Mackeson XXX is to beer. It is a great drink to have late evening possibly with dessert.
What about if I am in the mood for a drink with a little more kick and a bolder taste? Look no further than Fuller's Extra Special Bitter. Keep in mind that this puppy runs about $4.50 a bottle, but it is worth every drop and at the 5.5% alcohol percent it packs a nice little punch. This drink goes wonderfully with crab dip and tortilla chips or just something salty. Pick this and you'll leave with a smile. Finally let us take the path to the beer that is just great all around. This beer has its' own name in England. The "old dog" as it is referred to, has set a mark for the brown ale that is hard to reach for the competitors. New Castle Brown Ale is amazing in the bottle but even better on tap. With a slightly nutty aftertaste, the old dog clashes with virtually nothing and complements basically everything. When in doubt get a pint. I hope that my beer reviews have been helpful for all of you novices out there. Next time you go out just remember...imports are sweet and Coors Light sucks.

The Road Less Traveled

When I see pictures like this I often have this yearning desire to be walking along the path in the middle of nowhere without a care in the world and the wind whispering in my ears. I get the feeling that I am a person trapped within a split infinity. And by "split infinity" I mean that I long for one of two extremes. I either long for power, fame, and all the wealthy things that one can have, OR I want to be lost in thought away from everything. At times I would be totally content living in a small house in the country in some county that ends in 'esterchire' in England. If you have ever seen the movie The Saint with Val Kilmer, you will know what I am talking about because he goes to a little English farmhouse towards the end of the movie and his love interest meets him there. That is one of my ideal houses. Then, on the other side of the spectrum, I want to be at fancy galas and eating at the most expensive restaurants and be dressed up in a tux all the time. The odd thing is that I don't really ever dream about anything in the middle. I either want one or the other.
